Atlas Walks - Rize Ayder Plateau

The Atlas reader meeting, sponsored by Doğadan, took place at the Ayder Plateau in Rize from July 6-17. After arriving in Trabzon with Pegasus, we toured the Doğadan Factory, had an unforgettable breakfast in the Rize rain, and embarked on a challenging tent setup adventure. 🏕️ RİZE AYDER PLATEAU: RAINY CAMPING HOSPITALITY, SPONSORED BY DOĞADAN From July 16-17, this time sponsored by Doğadan, we met with Atlas magazine readers at the Ayder Plateau in Rize, a popular destination on the Black Sea coast. After landing in Trabzon on Saturday morning at 8:20 a.m. by Pegasus plane, our driver, Salih, met us and took us directly to the Doğadan Factory in Rize for a wonderful breakfast.

🏭 Factory Tour and Breakfast in the Rain

We enjoyed a delightful Black Sea breakfast in the factory garden under the rain. Afterward, we had the opportunity to tour the factory. As you can see upon entering the factory, hygiene regulations required covering our heads with special clothing. We witnessed all the stages of tea production, from A to Z, from harvesting to packaging.

⛺ A Challenging Beginning of Camping in Ayder Plateau

After the factory tour, when we arrived at our campsite in Ayder Plateau, we were greeted by torrential Black Sea rain. This is where the adventure began. In the rain, we tried to set up our Columbia tent, which was a complete puzzle to set up. We set it up, but we felt the rain all over us during that challenging time. Despite our lack of preparation, we once again realized the power of Mother Nature. The lesson to be learned from even this short trip is clear: When traveling to the Black Sea, a spare change of clothes and a sturdy tent guide are essential!
